Y'all got me feeling:

& Like....

Wow, woah, WOW! I never thought I'd get here any time soon. 200k/ TWO Hundred-frikkin'-Thousand Pageviews per month. Especially since I'd been away most of December and some of January due to a personal abyss I'd been trapped in. But to come back, seeing my blog stats at 200k pageviews was truly truly humbling and heart melting.
So, obviously I had to test the stats and I waited another month to see if it would hit 200k again and won't you dang too-tin know it. As of today my blog hit the mark for a consecutive month!

To all of you, My Readers:
my inspiration, my magical superstars that have made ALL of this possible through your amazing support & fanatical comments. I'm am irrevocably and unequivocally in AWE of YOU. Truly and truly humbled & honored by your return visits to my posts & content.

SO Again I must say:

Thank You!!! Thank You!!!

THE CONTENT:

It's been quite the journey, both as a learning curve and an eye-opening experience. I remember starting this a year ago in February of 2016 after I had written my novel The Cured: Rebirth
An excerpt can be found on this post here:

The First Date

I had read that a good platform to build on for authors was a blog so I decided to test the waters. Soon and without any warning I became hooked, if only due to the amazing people that I met through this and all of the unbelievable support in light of my "newbie" status. Post after post was dished out with no specific "niche" in mind. All I wanted to do was post about the things I loved most.
Things like:
And true to my Author Nature, a bunch of short stories too

Mommy Blogger: How I found out I was Pregnant

&

But soon other "Themes" & Weekly fun began to emerge on the blog.
One such Special Mention has to go to The Blog Tag angels, Cassarica & Sumarie.
Who also collaborated with me on The Zemlja Dosta Chronicles.

Their aim is to provide weekly writing prompts for bloggers & support them along their journey.
I had such hilarious FUN with these!
Wrote outside my comfort Zone on prompts like a Beauty Product Review & I can't remember what this prompt was but it was definitely Beauty related LOL

Confessions of a Teenage Blogger Queen

An awesome weekly prompt that was initiated by them were Various Tags based on that week's theme.
For example if that week was all about Movies, then by the end a Movie Tag with fun questions was created.
After doing a few and lovin' them I thought it was time to hear from someone else least I get boring LOL
From this the

Movie Tag: Akasha Garnier

was born and spanned many more interviews with Super-Fantastic & Talented individuals from all around the world.
Including one with a local superstar social media influencer

Inspire Tag: Karabo Mokgoko

***

Then on the 4th of June 2016, tragedy struck when I learned my long time Idol Muhammad Ali had passed away. Man, I was gutted, and I had to release all that grief into something positive. I had to share WHY he meant so much to me.
Which produced:

#RIPMuhammadAli - 5 Lessons You taught Me

Readers really responded to the 5 lessons & the condensed version of them.
So I began taking other Iconic figures that Inspired me like Ellen Degeneres (Who's catch phrase "Be Kind to One Another", I use to end each & every one of my posts), JK Rowling (Who is my All time Favorite Author) then summarizing just 5 powerful Life Lessons from them.

***
In the year prior I was introduced to the Wonderfully Wonderful world of Personal Development, from this experience I've also included a few posts on that, most notably:

How to OverCome Self-Doubt: A New Perspective to 6 Tips

&

***
In general I make it a rule not to care or get involved in politics, however on during the week of the 12th April 2016 the news became aflutter with news of "The Panama Papers" & after a work friend enticed me with the summary, my Author curiosity was peaked.

The Panama Papers: Who leaked the biggest leak in history?

The feedback was in a word, shocking. To me it was a passing thought that I wanted aired.
  • Irvin Joel made an Infographic.
  • And by 2016/04/19*
  • The Post was Shared/Featured in the French Online Press: http://panamapapers.press/
  • It was said that I wrote with true journalistic flare & reported on the story with new eyes in a new way.
***
MY All Time Favorite Post to Date has got to be this one though:

A Life without Traffic

It was one of my first posts as a blogger & one of the best ideas I've ever had. I love it.
I hope #GhostCars is invented one day.

The MILESTONES:

First Post dated Monday, 8 February 2016

Novel: Behind the scenes

The first one was ofcourse my first 10,000 views on the blog but I can't seem to find that one

so the next one was on 14th July 2016, just 5 months from inception:

With the corresponding FaceBook Post

Then remarkably by the 19th October 2016, just under 3 months later:
With the corresponding FaceBook Post

And Now on the 21st January 2017, just another 3 months later:

With the corresponding FaceBook Post

Don't get me wrong though, I'm not doing this to boast or proclaim.

#REVIEW ~ Secrets to #ShineThroughtheNoise

Complimenti epica per il mio amico e mentore Akasha Garnier!!!

Woooohoooo!!! Help me congratulate my friend & mentor Akasha Garnier on the official release of her motivational book, Secrets to Shine Through the Noise. As writers we all dream of getting published in some form or the other, so this is a massive accomplishment.
Follow Akasha & me to join us in celebration today on twitter.
It's been worth the wait & now the sale of #ShineThroughtheNoise goes live today!

Today I'm featuring one of my very best friends, in her unbelievably awesome review of the book. This is her first-time guest blogging but she pulls it off with flawless ease and passion.

Benita Govender is an optometrist, the reason for this career choice is because she wanted to help people on a daily basis. She is passionate about her job and thrives on it. Her family and friends mean the world to her. One of her hobbies is reading, she loves to learn new things. Reading also allows her to delve into new worlds and get lost in them.

Hello, Hello all you fantastically amazing individuals.

Today I not only have the honor of being featured on Alfonzo Words hot blog spot, but I have the absolute privilege to speak about Akasha Garnier's brilliant book: Secrets to Shine Through the Noise.
The awesome cover for this book was revealed right here on Alfonzo Words and was so worth the wait!

Cover Reveal: Shine Through the Noise

In this incredible book, Akasha shows us how to step out of boxes which society has put us in and embrace our individuality. She teaches us to SHINE.

"Shining is natural. It's that connection that makes you smile and the light bulb that goes on that makes us get up"

With the simple exercises, activities and steps laid out to assist you; not only will you be able to get what you WANT out of life but you will also discover new things about yourself along the way. The sky is the limit and this book has shown me how any of us have the ability to reach it.

At every turn, there is new inspiration and motivation but the one thing that sticks with me is that your age is irrelevant. Akasha speaks of how you can create new goals and reach them - at any age. Only we hold ourselves back.

I was surprised to find how simple the exercises were and yet have such an impact. I found coloring to be very therapeutic.

Reading these secrets has been a magnificent learning for me. I have always wanted to travel but having reached my academic goals, I became a creature of habit and comfort. Now I have new goals. To travel and to be more open to trying new things. To be more accepting of change.

Akasha says we need to eliminate the word "can't" and every day, I find myself doing just that. I've also begun to spend less time on social media just as she suggested and I find I have more time to be productive and accomplish my smaller daily goals.

There is a brilliant exercise to help you start moving forward. It's one of my favorites, as it helps you to "get into the driver's seat". Not only does it help to remind you of your positive traits, but it also allows you to learn more about yourself as a person. We are our own worst critics but this exercise helps you focus on your strengths and work on that.

Here is my favorite image from Secrets to Shine Through the Noise, is the signed hi-res Travel coloring image I received from Akasha:

It shows you reaping your rewards, in a way. Like all that hard work is paying off.

This book surpasses all distinctions we humans have created to divide us and calls out to every person to improve their lives and to do so at a pace which suits them.
Not only is it beneficial to each and every one of us, but 10% of proceeds from this book will be donated to Teen Cancer America.

I am most certainly going to get my family and friends to read this life-changing book. We have just this one life so let's SHINE, bright and bold.

Akasha also has a thriller trilogy which will be coming out and I for one cannot wait to get my hands on those books!

A HUGE thank you to Akasha for allowing me to read Secrets to Shine Through the Noise and Alfonzo Words for featuring me on this awesome blog. The support I have received from the both of you is greatly appreciated.

Akasha was invited to write this motivational book based on her branding expertise, love of travel and ability to inspire with the right blend of business and creative skills: Secrets to Shine Through the Noise (August 17, 2016/Motivational Press release). Shine Through the Noise illustrates Akasha’s journey from “starving artist” filmmaker to brand expert with lessons from her first mentor and promo partners along the way. These lessons help amplify personal and professional brand value with an action-able plan.

Akasha’s proud of her work as a writer, producer and activist; she balanced branding work as writer and producer in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Brighton, Paris/Cannes, and Hawaii. She excels at helping clients shine with 15 awards/accolades since 2007.

Akasha also enjoys giving back and is proud to partner with Teen Cancer America. Teen Cancer
America is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults
with cancer. Akasha will donate 10% of proceeds from Secrets to Shine Through the Noise to Teen Cancer America.

Ms Garnier will celebrate the book’s release with her Italian family’s restaurants, Nando Milano and do events in a few select cities; she will then finish negotiating her travel thriller series for release in best-selling book and film form.
Get to know more about the book below:
  1. Title of book: Secrets to Shine through the Noise

In this cinematic guide, the author shares how to create an actionable plan and how to make a brand distinctive to rise above the noise.

Listen to the awesome Podcast here:
Podcast: Shine Through the Noise
  1. What do you mean by “shine through the noise”?
  2. You talk about content heavy websites and how that can dull a brand. What branding pro secret do you have to share with our audience about improving their web presence?
  3. What social media secret could you share with our audience to help them get millions of impressions in under a month?
  4. You talk about harnessing the power of business and creative skills to help people shine through the noise. What’s your noise, or Kryptonite? What best practice can you share about this?
"We had fun posing, delving into and answering some of the key questions:
Have a think about your own SHINE and jot it down. I believe a few minutes spent on questions of this nature are worth it.. YOU are worth it!"

"I am grateful that I have chances to blend creative and business skills during my college radio adventures. It sparked my first film production and now I can see 3 books and screenplays on the horizon. I will be announcing the first set of giveaways this week!"

"Remember, wherever you are on your journey, believe it's worth the trip!"

Travel Tag: Sara Essop

Inspire. Create. Write.TM

Buenas Dias!

One of my favorite days of the week has arrived, iiiiiiitS #TravelTuesday
Travel is a Billion Dollar industry almost teasing at Trillion Dollar status, Why?
Because EVERYONE loves to travel! And those that say they don't are 9 times outta 10 just lying to themselves more than lying to you.

I love that quote above by my man Hans C. Andersen, it so eloquently captures the heart & core message of Travel.

My mate Richie from the Live Your Now initiative has just released a new song on sound cloud that I believe embodies perfectly the sound of embarking on a new journey. Have a listen while reading this Travel Tag:

I mentioned in my post, Testimonials for Live Your Now & S.S Blake that it was thanks to Sara Essop & her awesome promo partners that I was able to attend the National Achievers Congress, #VIP Style and meet Robert Kiyosaki, author of the world's No. 1 finance book Rich Dad Poor Dad.

I always see Sara sharing travel blog posts & amazing destination photos so I thought hosting her on a Travel Tag would be perfect! She also allows others to share their travel stories on her blog, giving them the spotlight, which I believe is truly indicative of her wonderful heart. #SharingitForward

Meet Sara Essop

Sara is a travel blogger and writer based in Johannesburg and she blogs at “In Africa and Beyond”. Her blog is about travel, events, and experiences around the world. It aims to inspire others to travel and explore. She especially loves showcasing her beautiful country. She hasn’t been everywhere yet but it’s on her bucket list.

1. Tell us about a recent holiday
  • My last overseas holiday was to the UK where we explored London. From there we went to the USA, where we visited Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando. It was amazing. The only drawback was our exchange rate.
2. Best destination to travel to
  • I loved Istanbul and Venice.
3. Worst Travel experience?
  • In Melaka, Malaysia, I slipped and fell on a patch of moss. I was badly bruised for a few days.
4. How traveling has changed your life?
  • It’s opened my eyes to different experiences, cultures, and lifestyles and made me more broad-minded.
5. Where are you from?
  • Johannesburg, South Africa
6. Where have you been around the world?
  • I’ve been to 40 countries including USA, Italy, India, Malaysia, China, UK etc
7. What is your favorite City?
  • I’d say Istanbul. It’s a magical city, full of history, interesting architecture, fascinating culture and good food. It’s also the only city in the world which spans two continents, Europe and Asia.
8. What are your dream destinations?
  • Right now, I really want to go to South America, since I’ve never been there. I would also love to go and see the Northern Lights
9. Best item you have purchased overseas?
  • I bought a beautiful Rado watch in Switzerland. And I always buy a fridge magnet representing the country I am in when traveling.
10. What time of the year do you like to travel?
  • Since I’ve got kids who go to school, it’s more about when I can travel – and that would be in the school holidays.
11. How many times a year do you travel?
  • I usually go overseas at least once a year and local holidays a few times a year.
12. Show us your favorite travel picture?
Santorini, Greece
13. What are some new and exciting cuisines have you tried on your travels?
  • Chocolate and banana pizza in Zanzibar. Chicken, olive and citrus tagine in Morocco.
14. Have you ever lost something while traveling?
  • Yes – on my last overseas trip I left my Canon camera on the plane at Gatwick airport in UK. Fortunately, I managed to get it back again about 6 weeks and R1000 later.
15. What are your favorite travel activities?
  • Sightseeing and exploring. I like to go to where the locals hang out too. I don’t usually waste time with shopping
16. What are your must-have travel accessories?
  • A good camera, a smartphone with Wi-fi
17. What is your favorite accent in the world?

Italian.
Burano, Italy
18. If you could live anywhere where would you live?
  • Tough one. Probably some tropical island
19. Why do you enjoy traveling?
  • I love discovering and exploring new destinations and taking photos wherever I go. Seeing world famous places and off-the-beaten-track places in the flesh, experiencing new adventures, new cultures and new cuisine excites me and inspires me.
20. Do you have a travel buddy?
  • I always travel with my husband and usually my two kids too.
21. What are some of the interesting places you've visited and the different cultures?
  • Istanbul, Venice, London, Mumbai, New York. They are all interesting in their own unique ways.
22. Have you ever had any bad travel experiences?
  • I don’t usually enjoy long layovers at airports. But once, I was traveling to South Africa from India via Nairobi. Our flight in India was delayed and we missed our connecting flight in Nairobi. It was before the sanctions were lifted and we weren’t allowed to enter Nairobi without a visa as South African passport holders. There was a large group of us and we stayed at the airport for 5 days before they could put us on a flight to South Africa again.
23. Advice for those who want to travel but think they can’t?
  • There are many ways to travel cheaply and on a budget. If you let yourself believe that it is possible then it will be possible.

Inspire Tag: Karabo Mokgoko

Inspire. Create. Write.TM
There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.

It's #MondayMotivation & good lord do I have a treat for y'all.
Ever hear the terms "Influencer", "Trend Setter", "Socialite"? Well, you're about to find out just who that applies to. You're about to meet an unbelievably powerful soul. She inspires me weekly.

I distinctly remember the day I got the notification that Kay_Angel had followed me. Upon opening up her profile I was blown away at the sight of her having +500K Followers! I felt so honored & humbled, mostly jazzed that I immediately followed back with furious retweets on her tweets haha. She really does send out beautiful, powerful & trend setting tweets. Motivational, Inspiring & wise. Over & above this, days after my retweet parade, I received a message from her saying that due to my retweet of her specific Hashtagged tweet I had been chosen to receive exclusive VIP tickets to the Comedy Roast Battle at MonteCasino - pics on Instagram.
Reason for me telling you this: I know first hand that Karabo gives back to her followers & interacts with them daily. That's what's in it for you if you follow this Amazing soul. You add value to your daily social media intake.

Tout sur Karabo Mokgoko

An adorably stubborn beautiful soul.

Surrounded by an air of mystery Karabo herself is the answer, a woman driven by her love for life.

A traveler; passionate about photography, loves being around friends and family.

A hard working law student and techie. Ms. Mokgoko is a foodie with great taste and good insight into brands.

She’s a free-spirited socialite. Catch up on her travels and experience through pictures, articles, and tweets. Journey with her.

1. What is the best advice you were ever given?
  • Honestly, I cannot pick one. The best advice to me, is given at a time I need to apply it most in my life.
2. Who inspires you and why?
  • I learn something from everyone I meet, everyone has a story. And from that, I get inspired.
3. Everyone has bad days, how do you deal with a bad day?
  • Music & that special someone :)
4. Where do you go/what do you do when you need motivation?
  • I go on social media, weird, but if you know where to look, if you follow the right people, social media becomes about motivation and positive vibes oh and books too!
5. Failure is a big part of life, what has been your biggest failure to date?
  • I guess when life happened and interrupted the plans I had. But a friend once told me "the best-laid plans are bound to be disrupted by events we never plan for, nor anticipated nor prepared for. it is how we move on that matters. sometimes the cruelty or pain of the disruption throws us offside, and you self-doubt whether there is something wrong. but you gotta push." One of the best pieces of advice I've ever received.
6. What is your biggest achievement?
  • So far, academically. Something I take pride in.
7. Have you conquered any fears?
  • I've temporarily overcome my fears. Conquered, no...I've realized that they will be a part of me. I'll always be terrified out of heights but I'll suck it up and go on a roller coaster whenever I'm at Gold Reef City or Ratanga Junction. Also, the fear of failure is what drives me to work hard so that I won't get to the point of "failure".
8. Music helps lift our mood, What is your go-to song when you need a pick me up?
  • It depends on what got me down in the first place. Sometimes I just open Apple Music and just play suggested music and sometimes classical music, it calms the mind and soothes the soul. So I don't really have a specific song.
9. Complete the sentence, Happiness is…
  • Your choice.
10. What do you do to clear your mind?
  • Is there such a thing? *laughs*
11. Life can be stressful, what are your top 3 things to unwind?
  • Travel. Food. Time spent with ones you Love.
12. Have you watched any inspiring movies? Do you have any favorites?
  • Not that I recall. I don't think inspiring movies would be interesting to me.
13. What is your favorite inspirational quote?
  • Let today be the day you love yourself enough to no longer just dream of a better life; let it be the day you act upon it ~Steve Maraboli
14. Do you listen to motivational speakers?
  • No.
15. How do you cope with unpleasant people?

See the reason that I do these Tags especially the Inspire Tag, is to show you that "Anything is possible if you've got enough Nerve." JK Rowling. Ms. Rowling, Steve Jobs, Ricard Branson, Oprah, Ellen Degeneres, Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, Steven Spielberg, Trevor Noah and the list goes on and on. What do they all have in common?

They are YOU!

Yes, they started out just like you, regular, human, with regular families, regular friends, regular skills. But they Dreamed, oh boy did they ever Dream. More importantly, they put in the hard work, the maximum effort & that is truly how they ended up where they are today. You don't need 7 secrets, 20 techniques or an all weekend program to be successful. You need only realize that EVERYONE who ever accomplished anything started exactly where you will start. Once you do, all that anxiety & doubt will disappear, in its place, a beautiful and powerful Magic will start to grow.

The Magic of YOU!

So I beseech you, start to Dream again, start to Believe in You because I already do. I have faith that all of you can & will accomplish incredible and insurmountable feats. Your dream is still there, I promise you it's still there. Reach out and Soar with it.
