Music Tag: Niall Higgins

Aloha!
A few weeks ago I went out with some awesome souls to Arts on Main in the heart of Johannesburg. My favorite place in this city. There we discovered a great new open mic initiative every Sundays, produced and recorded by Wolf Pack Studios

And then I watched this video posted:
*****
Blimey!!! Had actual goosebumps! I knew then, without a shadow of a doubt that I had to feature this amazing dude on the blog. So here he is, a singer & a truly down to earth guy.

He loves music more than anything in the world and plays both guitar as well as the drums. He not only sings but writes & produces his own original music. He loves everything to do with performing; whether it be acting, public speaking, dancing, modeling, or singing at a concert. Niall believes that inspiring and motivation people through entertainment is the most important part of being an entertainer.
Niall further states that the purpose of life is to live, love and inspire every person that you may come into contact with and by doing so, make the world a better place.

Inspire Tag: Michael Moorcroft

Inspire. Create. Write.TM

Bonjour vous les gens épiques

It's a new week with a whole new set of probabilities & awesome paths your life can take.
Let's kickit off with #MondayMotivation

The #AntiBullying campaigns are under way & body image is ranked up high on the bullying list, especially from personal experience. In search, a model's inspiring profile caught my eye. He seemed perfect for an Inspire Tag feature & I really enjoyed his answers today.

Michael's posts are both motivational & wise, shedding adequate light on important matters while providing a great lifestyle bonus of nutritional value.

Meet Michael Moorcroft

Inspire Tag

1. What is the best advice you were ever given?
  • My grandmother used to say nasty people are jealous people, growing up I didn’t quite believe her but now I’m not so sure.
2. Who inspires you and why?
  •  It has to be my mother. She’s gone through a lot and despite all this she’s managed to survive, raise two children, get a 2.1 in a long distance course in psychology whilst working a demanding full time job and now is in the process of writing a novel. She inspires me.
3. Everyone has bad days, how do you deal with a bad day?
  • Take a shower, go for a walk, find good things to focus on. I think on bad days it’s good to go back to the basics.
4. Where do you go/what do you do when you need motivation?
  •  I live close to a protected park with a huge forest so I usually take a walk around there. Or I make of huge teapot of herbal tea.

Hibiscus
5. Failure is a big part of life, what has been your biggest failure to date?
  •  I don’t like that word failure. I haven’t failed at anything because I’ve learnt from any potential failings.
6. What is your biggest achievement?

Hmmmm I have a few that I’m proud of.
  • I have a 2.1 in Law – it was really difficult and my first year was especially tough.
  • I decided to quit my job and my life really to move to London to become a model.

In my first year of modelling I’ve managed to secure a campaign for an eyewear company called Cutler and Gross and book 8 runway shows.

7. Have you conquered any fears?
  •  Yes I think so, I struggle with rejection and every casting in modelling you face a high probability of rejection.
8. Music helps lift our mood, What is your go-to song when you need a pick me up?
  • Another love Tom Odell

9. Complete the sentence, Happiness is…
  • The most sought after thing but the most unappreciated.

 ******

10. What do you do to clear your mind?
  •  I write, if something is particular bad or is bothering me I burn it afterwards.
11. Life can be stressful, what are your top 3 things to unwind?

  • I read articles on health – I’m a huge health freak,

12. Have you watched any inspiring movies? Do you have any favorites?
  •  Inspiring – no. But my favourite is Apocalypto.
13. What is your favorite inspirational quote?

15. How do you cope with unpleasant people?

Find what makes you happy and pursue that, try to recognize when things aren’t working and alter it. Be kind to yourself, look after yourself and treat yourself with respect. I guess I have a few pieces.
17. Complete the sentence “When life gives you lemons…”
  •  Make champagne – I don’t like lemonade.
18. What is the most inspiring book you have ever read?

19. Do you have a place to pray or meditate?
  •  I don’t actually, I usually do it my bedroom.
20. What is your motto in life?
  •  Who cares what they say?

Tips & Tricks:

1. Do you have any great Model resources/ Sites that you can share with us?

2. What would you say to other aspiring Models out there?

  • Persistence is key, look after yourself (physically, emotionally and mentally) and take it seriously. There is nothing worse than seeing models do it just to say they are a model to impress other people.

3. If there was just one nugget of wisdom you could share, what would that be?

  • Try not to compare yourself with others and their careers – everyone is different, there are no set rules in modelling. This sounds really basic but it’s easily forgotten.

See the reason that I do these Tags especially the Inspire Tag, is to show you that "Anything is possible if you've got enough Nerve." JK Rowling. Ms. Rowling, Steve Jobs, Ricard Branson, Oprah, Ellen Degeneres, Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, Steven Spielberg, Trevor Noah and the list goes on and on. What do they all have in common?

They are YOU!

Yes, they started out just like you, regular, human, with regular families, regular friends, regular skills. But they Dreamed, oh boy did they ever Dream. More importantly, they put in the hard work, the maximum effort & that is truly how they ended up where they are today. You don't need 7 secrets, 20 techniques or an all weekend program to be successful. You need only realize that EVERYONE who ever accomplished anything started exactly where you will start. Once you do, all that anxiety & doubt will disappear, in its place, a beautiful and powerful Magic will start to grow.

The Magic of YOU!

So I beseech you, start to Dream again, start to Believe in You because I already do. I have faith that all of you can & will accomplish incredible and insurmountable feats. Your dream is still there, I promise you it's still there. Reach out and Soar with it.
