Wooooohoooo!!!

~Happy Halloween!!!

To kick things off with my maniacal Halloween plans {muuuuhahaha}, I have a super awesome guest who's going to share with us not only his experiences of Halloween's past but also his Epic artworks.

Growing up #Horror stories were much more intense than most, those of you who know the Myth of Highway Sheila might understand what I mean.
Now watching horror movies is sort of a guilty pleasure of mine, I love it because the really good ones can make you question everything you know to be true about the world. A great example of this is the movie As Above, So Below.
*goosebumps* if you get a chance you should watch it.

I truly enjoy following Sean on twitter, if you're a horror fan his posts are a must see & the guy is always interactive with his followers. His art is moi impressivo & I thought this would be a great tag to introduce him you.

I'm an artist that does weird and unusual art which is heavily influenced by my nightmares, night terrors and things that just pop in my head. I'm involved in some interesting projects including artwork for the upcoming horror flick Death House which has the largest group of horror icons in one horror flick, providing artwork and inspiration for Josh Millican's monthly serial Deeper Than Hell available at MorbidlyBeautiful.com, working on a Virtual Reality homage of Night Of The Living Dead with CryptUK and some other odds and ends.
You can connect with me on Twitter @OddNMacabre where I host nightly watch and tweet horror movie nights and I look forward to meeting you.

Wooooohoooo!!!
~~Happy Friday Dance & Halloween Weekend!

To kick things off with my maniacal Halloween plans {muuuuhahaha}, I have a super awesome guest who's going to share with us her magical experiences of Halloween's past.

I've always loved EVERYthing about Halloween. The Trick o' Treatin, the candy, the Epic costumes, the vibe, the culture, the parties. Everything.
Sadly though in my religion/culture & location there is No Halloween at all. Nada. We do have a celebration called Diwali where indians stay up all night & light up the skies with fireworks, so it wasn't a complete loss. I did have mad, crazy fun as a kid. Dangerous yes, but super fun & explosive. hahaha

Still I would have, just once, liked to dress up as superman & go Trick o' Treatin.
Livin' vicariously through peeps, I'm using this as a chance to catch up on their adventures.

Halloween Tag:

1. Do you celebrate Halloween?
  • I do! It’s always been one of my favorites!

2. Have you ever dressed up for Halloween or any other event before, if tell us about your costume
  • I dress up any chance I get! I never miss a Halloween, a Renaissance Fair or anything else! I’m something different every year. Last year I was a pin up girl, the year before that it was day of the dead and the year before that I was a porcelain doll, although my friends kids insisted I was a vampire.

3. What is your favorite horror movie?
  • Thirteen Ghosts, Ghost Ship and Rose Red. They’re all my favorites.
4. You’re home alone but you hear footsteps in your house, what do you do?
  • Grab the gun, search the place and if I find no one light some candles, tell them to go away and possibly spread some salt.
5. Have you ever been trick or treating?
  • Oh yes. When I was little it was mostly us just going around to my family’s houses. When I got a little older we would hit subdivisions.

6. Favorite scary book?

  • The Trickster

7. What was your first Halloween costume?
  • I have no idea but the first to my memory was Jasmine from Aladdin.

8. If you got trapped in one scary movie, which would you choose?
  • Anything that’s not ghosts and spirits. I think I could handle mostly anything else. How about zombies? I think I would thrive with some zombies.

9. In a zombie apocalypse what is your weapon of choice?
  • Sword. It’s smoother than an axe or anything similar and doesn’t run out of bullets.

10. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
  • Receese’s
11. Have you ever carved a pumpkin?
  • Oh yes. I try to carve things other than faces though. I think last year I carved a cat.

12. Name something you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark forest or in an abandoned building.
  • I wouldn’t want to run into anything, thanks. haha

13. Have you played any scary pranks on anyone or has anyone played a scary prank on you?
  • Not really. We’ve rolled people’s (family’s) yards and had ours rolled. That’s about it.

14. How old were you when you saw your first horror movie?
  • I have no idea but I saw Nightmare on Elm St when I was like 10ish and slept in my parents bedroom floor for the next 2 years hahaha.

15. Is Halloween an important holiday for you?
  • Not really important. Just fun.
16. What do you think Halloween is about?
  • The thinning of the veil between this world and others. I’ve seen some documentaries about how it all started. I like to engulf myself in the magic of it all.
17. What would be your ideal Halloween costume?
  • This year I’m going as a badass huntress. That’s pretty perfect in my mind.

18. Favorite horror monster or villain?
  • I can’t play favorites. I dislike them all equally haha.

19. If you were in a horror movie, how far do you think you would get?
  • I’d survive. I’m intelligent and badass like that.

20. Your best Halloween memory?

  • I don’t have a best. There are moments in most of them that I remember being really happy. Like the first time we got to trick or treat that didn’t involve just going around to family’s houses. We rode around in my parent’s friend’s gator and sang “I want candy” the whole time. Or when I stopped trick or treating and instead just hung out with friends and watched scarey movies.

Donald Trump - 5 Lessons You Taught Me

Bonjour No!

Half way through the week & it's #WednesdayWisdom.
This week I hit 5k followers in under 3 months on my #Twitter account!
Follow me  or me :-)

🌟Breaking News!!!
Donald J. Trump has just been elected as the 45th president of the United States of America! 09/11/2016

"It's been what they call a historic event. But to be really historic, we have to do a great job. And I promise you that I will not let you down."

Today I take a famous Icon and find 5, yes, just 5 lessons that they can teach us.
I feel like I should start by saying "In no way does this post politically endorse any presidential candidate"

I wanted a challenge with today's post so why not choose a person, who's got an onslaught of negative press in his career and find The Positive life lessons he could inspire in others.

Regardless of your feeling towards the man, whether positive or negative, here are the facts:

Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is a Successful American businessman, television producer and politician, who is the Republican Party nominee for President of the United States in the 2016 election.

His Net Worth is US$3.7 billion (2016)

He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization, which is the principal holding company for his real estate ventures and other business interests. During his career, Trump has built office towers, hotels, casinos, golf courses, an urban development project in Manhattan, and other branded facilities worldwide.

In light of this information, it is evident that Mr. Trump does have some motivation & inspiration to offer us all.

5. Branding Smanding

“If your business is not a brand, it’s a commodity.”

My awesome Author friend & mentor Akasha Garnier has written an unbelievably amazing book that's all about how to create & amplify your brand. Check it Out
Branding is super important but deciding on your brand can be a daunting task. This awesome review on the book sheds light on Akasha's exceptional #PersonalDevelopment skill

4. Seeing is Believing

“If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will.”

As I've said, from personal conversations with people & the posts online, Donald has received an onslaught of negative press throughout his career. Both against his personality & his business ethics. Has that stopped him from moving forward? Nope, not in the slightest. Infact the guy has now set his sights on becoming President, Lex Luthor Style {jj}.
Mr. Trump has shown us that he has a supreme belief in himself & his ambitions.

3. Go BIG, or go Home
“I like thinking big. If you’re going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big.”

My ultimate phrase in life is to Dream BIG so this lesson fits perfectly into that. He even says "Most people think small because they are afraid of success, afraid of making decisions, afraid of winning."
Now while I do believe that we are ALL unique and have our own reasons for doing the things we do, this lesson stands strong. We should all strive for the next level, to never settle for the ordinary when we can become ExtraOrdinary.

2. Experience Beats Paper
“Experience taught me a few things. One is to listen to your gut, no matter how good something sounds on paper. The second is that you’re generally better off sticking with what you know. And the third is that sometimes your best investments are the ones you don’t make.”

Entrepreneurs, especially successful ones like Donald Trump prove time & time again that experience beats paper on every single occasion. Especially when it comes to achieving the very things that others thought impossible. Be daring, go with your gut, you never know what's around the corner.

1. Get Going or Get Gone
“Get going. Move forward. Aim High. Plan a takeoff. Don't just sit on the runway and hope someone will come along and push the airplane. It simply won't happen. Change your attitude and gain some altitude. Believe me, you'll love it up here.”

Watch the LIVE Trump Victory Speech Here:

We ALL have the potential to do Great things, no matter how smart or educated we are. No matter how big or small we are. No matter how strong or weak we are. No matter our race, culture or religion. And no matter our circumstance.
It all begins with the decision to TRY.

R.I.P: Heath Ledger
From one of my favorite movies, A Knight's Tale:
“Can a man change the stars?"
"Yes William. If he believes enough, a man can do anything!”

Tips & Tricks:

1. Do you have any great writing resources that you can share with us?
2. What would you say to other aspiring writers out there?
  • Write daily, even if just one paragraph. Read about improving your writing daily, and read something daily. It’s not about talent, it’s about persistence and learning. Anyone can become a great writer if they keep putting in the effort, i.e., write, read, and read about improving your writing as much as possible. Small gains daily add up to tremendous gains over time.
3. If there was just one nugget of wisdom you could share, what would that be?
  • Don’t give up. Don’t listen to people who have given up or never tried. Seek advice from those who succeeded and you wish to emulate. Be persistent and focus on changing bad habits. It’s the consistent small good habits that push you towards your dreams over time.
Have you written any books? Tell us about it/them.

  • I’ve written four books in an eight-part epic-fantasy series called Everville. The latest was Everville: The Fall of Brackenbone which takes place partly in a university and partly on a parallel fantasy world with fantasy characters that work with the protagonist, Owen Sage, to stop the destruction of the word from evil forces.
Buy Everville Books: Amazon Link
  • I also wrote a self-help book on happiness and success this past summer, which I’m currently working on to get published and promoted. You can get a feel for my self-help writing by reading my Lifehack articles here. http://www.lifehack.org/author/royhuffowensage-com
Stay tuned to Roy Huff's upcoming releases & promotions:
